The Heidal cheese is a dark type of Gudbrandsdal cheese with
powerful, round and caramel-like taste. Long cooking time, good
craftsmanship and good ingredients give the award-winning taste.
The Heidal brown cheese is packed in shapes that have an old-fashioned acanthus (akantus) pattern.
It is a strong symbol of Norwegian culture and tradition. Heidal ysteri are the only producer in the country of this formshaped cheese. This is used especially for Christmas and as gifts the rest of the year. A local woodcarver has made the molds in which the cheese is stuffed.
Note: The product is recommended refrigerated between 0 – 4 celsius. It will be shipped without refrigeration, as the manufacturer states that the product, can be stored in room temperature in shorter periodes. Please remember to put the product in the refridgerator when shipment arrives.
